Who is Hess Construction, and what is H. TEAM?

The foundation of Hess Construction began with Arden Hess. Arden began building as early as high school. He was recognized as an honest hardworking employee early and was recruited by some of the most highly respected builders of the day. As his interest and commitment to home building never faded…. Arden worked hard and received his bachelor’s degree, successfully completed the highly respected HBA construction apprenticeship program, as a result founded Hess Construction in 1984. Immediately he was building estate scale, legacy, and high scale vacation homes. Hess Construction has since built over 30 of this type of home accounting for over 150 million dollars in homes. Hess Construction has never built custom homes for speculation. His 6 year average of only 2 homes per year is an obvious testament to his commitment of focus and the true scale of the homes he has helped create. Although Arden was, and is the foundation, he has established a staff of the most competent like minded employees with the lowest turnover in the industry.

What is H. TEAM?

H. TEAM is an acrostic Harmonization Trust Experience Accountability Management

In building a large home the item that is normally lacking and tasks the home owner, architect, designer and everyone else involved is the lack of harmonization. We use the letters in TEAM to create Harmonization.

Harmonization

Hess Construction has developed a team approach to bring the key players of the construction process together. This process allows full participation of the architect, designer, engineer, sub contractors in the process. The entire process eliminates ALL conflict and allows you as the home owner to dictate the level of involvement you want with out worrying that the key players are not communicating. Read on….

Trust

Arden has a tremendous wealth of knowledge from his experience as the Dean of Commissioner Science for the Boy Scouts of America and as the zone and district commissioner for the same was responsible for over 3500 leaders from all different backgrounds. The entire Hess Construction team embodies the philosophy of scouting and importance of its values.

Experience

35 years of building this same kind of home leads to almost perfection. You see, Arden did not spend his career working towards building estate level homes. It is where he started. Hess Construction has even been recognized by his own peers and the community with the Park City Builders Excellence award. Hess Construction has vetted ALL of the vendors and Sub Contractors to be used in connection with your home. Their suppliers typically have over 15 years experience.

Accountability

Accountability begins in your community and your family. If it is mastered it will always flow into all other areas of your life. Arden is an active volunteer in the Volunteers of America, United Way VITA program, Granite school district Education foundation Board of Directors. Arden has recently been awarded the highest award in the Boy Scouts of America for his life time of service the SILVER BEAVER award. You see Service equates to accountability and cooperation.

Management

Hess Construction is well staffed and uses the latest technology to track and cost jobs. They have dedicated estimators, accountants, superintendants, and project managers. You see, although you have the influence of Arden throughout the company you will never feel like he has to “do it all”. Through his many life experiences he has mastered the H Team within his own organization.
